Sveriges Fotterapeuter was founded in 1999 from a fusion of two smaller organisations.

Sveriges Fotterapeuter is a branch of professionals from podiatrists in Sweden and consists of twenty districts, with a local board in each district and one union executive committee located in Stockholm.

Sveriges Fotterapeuter is responsible for the further education of members, central and local, for all the twenty districts.
